The government yesterday amended the announcement on the timing of imposing and lifting curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam Districts. Hence, curfew in these areas will remain in force till 5:00 a.m. on April 27.
The government announced last Saturday that curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy, Kegalle and Ampara Districts would be lifted at 5:00 a.m. on April 22 and reimposed at 8:00 p.m. on the same day.
Accordingly, ongoing curfew in other districts will be effective from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. till April 24. In these areas, curfew will be reimposed at 8:00 p.m. on April 24 and continue till 5:00 a.m. on April 27.
Travelling to and from Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam Districts is prohibited.
“Conditions and guidelines announced earlier on the continuation of essential services and agricultural activities remain unchanged,” the Presidential Media Division (PMD) said.
