Police shoot dead Indo-American suspect during arrest in San Antonio

Sahoo’s ex-wife, Leah Goldstein, revealed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had struggled with the condition for the past decade. Despite his challenges, Goldstein described Sahoo as a caring father and provider for their family.

An Indo-American suspect was fatally shot by police in San Antonio during an attempted arrest. Sachin Kumar Sahoo, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene after an altercation with officers. Chief Bill McManus of San Antonio police stated, “An arrest warrant had been issued for Sahoo, and officers attempted to apprehend him when the altercation occurred.”

Sahoo, originally from Uttar Pradesh, India, was the suspect in an aggravated assault case involving a 51-year-old woman who was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Sahoo. When officers approached Sahoo at his residence, he struck two officers with his BMW, resulting in one officer firing his weapon, causing Sahoo’s death. One officer was hospitalized, and the other received treatment at the scene. Chief McManus reiterated, “An arrest warrant had been issued for Sahoo, and officers attempted to apprehend him when the altercation occurred.”

The police investigation is ongoing, including a review of bodycam footage. Sahoo’s ex-wife, Leah Goldstein, revealed his struggles with bipolar disorder over the past decade. Despite this, Goldstein described Sahoo as a caring father and provider for their family.
