In a harrowing incident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, Judge Shakirullah Marwat, serving at a sessions court in South Waziristan, fell victim to abduction by militants. The ordeal unfolded as Marwat’s vehicle was intercepted by armed assailants while en route to Dera Ismail Khan district. Amid gunfire, the judge was forcibly taken, and his car was set ablaze.

A distressing video surfaced, featuring Judge Marwat urging authorities to fulfill the demands of the militants for his safe release. The plea highlighted the precarious situation and the looming threat posed by the abductors.

Prompt action ensued with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deploying the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to spearhead the rescue operation. After intensive efforts, Marwat was successfully retrieved unharmed, marking a triumph against terror.

The incident sheds light on the persistent challenges posed by militant groups like the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the region. Despite ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security, sporadic acts of violence continue to disrupt normalcy, underscoring the need for sustained vigilance and coordinated efforts to combat extremism.
