Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun completes 25 years of its release today. The film starred Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles along with Mohnish Bahl and Renuka Shahane in pivotal roles. Though the film completes 25 years, it is enjoyed by all the generations whenever screened on the small screen.
Today, let’s look at how the actors in the film looked 25 years ago, and how they look now.
Salman Khan was 28 when Hum Aapke Hain Koun released. The actor at that time had a lean body and looked like a chocolate boy hero. But in 25 years, Salman has changed a lot. He now has a pumped-up body with abs. We can say that Salman had a transformation from looking cute to hot.
We won’t be wrong if we say that Madhuri Dixit has aged with grace. Well, apart from a bit changes in her skin because of the age, the actress looks same what she looked 25 years ago. Madhuri’s character Nisha is undoubtedly one of the most loved roles she has ever played.
Every guy in the 90s wished to have a bhabhi (sister-in-law) like Renuka Shahane’s character Pooja. The actress has gained a bit weight in these 25 years, but well, her gorgeous smile still steals our hearts. By the way, we cannot forget her dancing on the song, ‘Lo chali main apne devar ki baaraat leke, lo chali main…’
Mohnish Bahl impressed us with his simple yet effective performance as Rajesh in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. He played a perfect son, a perfect brother and a perfect husband. Bahl hasn’t changed much, there’s still simplicity on his face even after 25 years.
Anupam Kher played the role of Madhuri Dixit and Renuka Shahane’s father in the film. But not many would know that in real life he is just 12 years older than Madhuri and 10 years older than Renuka. By the way, in 25 years, Kher has started looking quite better and we won’t be wrong if we say he is one of the fittest actors. Don’t believe us? Watch his workout videos on Instagram.
25 years ago, a 36-year-old Reema Lagoo played the role of Madhuri and Renuka’s mother in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Today, as the film completes 25 years, we miss Reema Lagoo as she left us in the year 2017. But, we will never forget the song featuring her, ‘Aaj hamaare dil mein ajab ye uljhan hai, saamne samadhiji, gaa rahi samdhan hai…’
Not many would know that our very own Jethalal from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was a part of Hum Aapke Hain Koun. He played Madhuri’s cousin in the film and was there to make us laugh in the movie.
