Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2764 with 11 new cases

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2,764 Friday after 11 more persons tested positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 10 pm Friday, 659 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 63 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 2,094 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January this year, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 147,385 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to July 23, according to the report.
