Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who is riding high on the riotous success of his latest film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), recently started shooting for Telugu-language period action drama RRR. The film is being helmed by acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli who wields the megaphone after Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017).
The upcoming film, which is being made at a humongous budget of ₹ 350 crores, features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles. Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt appear in extended cameos. While Devgn and Rajamouli have just started shooting for their maiden venture, rumours are swirling around in the industry that the two are already planning to do yet another film together.
Yes, you heard it absolutely right! A leading publication reports that their next film will be original and not a remake of any movie. There have been talks about the duo joining forces for a full-fledged film but due to date issues, the project could not take off.
The report says that Rajamouli was expected to direct a Hindi film for Ajay Devgn Ffilms. A source close to the development informs the daily, “But at that point of time, Rajamouli was committed to doing a Telugu film with Prabhas, so he did Baahubali. But now it’s time to do a Hindi film with Ajay Devgn.”
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is also shooting for his next Hindi films Bhuj: The Pride of India and Maidaan. Both films are based on real-life incidents and are hugely anticipated by fans. While Bhuj: The Pride of India is scheduled to hit the marquee on 14th August, 2020, Maidaan will arrive in cinemas on 27th November, 2020.
