Popular actress Sargun Mehta has made a name for herself on television and in Punjabi cinema with impressive performances. The winning turns on TV and the big screen have won her fans around the world, including Zara from California.
Eastern Eye caught up with super fan Zara to find out more.
What first connected you to Sargun Mehta?
Seeing her exceptional portrayal of Jessica in her film Love Punjab was an instant connection. Also, that was my first time seeing her on screen, but the graceful way she portrayed her character meant I was able to connect with her within minutes.
What made you become a super fan?
It has been the vibe she has. The positivity she spreads and happiness she gives. She is very lively and full of life. Her positive approach to everything in life has inspired me so much.
Tell us about something super you have done for Sargun?
I remember voting multiple times for her for three different award shows. The number of votes I cast was insane.
What has been your most memorable moment?
That was when she followed me back on my first fan page for her. As a fan, Sargun winning her first Filmfare Award was very memorable and a precious moment.
What is the thing you most love about her?
Her versatility as a performer knows no bounds. She is a powerful actor and makes you feel every emotion of the character. She’s the most inspiring, whether it be her attitude of never giving up on your dreams or being grateful. She’s extremely loving when it comes to family and is passionate about her work. She has maintained a balance in everything. I love the way she and Ravi (Dubey) love each other. It’s just so special to see that true love actually exists.
Which quality in Sargun do you most relate to?
It’s her fun-loving nature.
What is your favourite work she has done?
Every time I step out of the cinema I declare that this is the best film of hers. So there can’t be one answer, but her film Qismat shall be special.
Why do you love being a super fan?
I’m here to express my insane love for her and when she appreciates that, it’s a feeling out of this world. Being a super fan, applauding your idol, standing up for them, letting them know that they are loved and putting in countless efforts just to see them smile are pure happiness in itself.
