It has been more than seven months since the release of Zero (2018), but superstar Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next film. Everybody is curious to know what the superstar is doing next. His name has been linked to several projects in the last couple of months, but all speculations have turned out to be baseless so far.
Khan’s name is being associated with yet another flick. Buzz has it that the superstar will topline ace filmmaker Shankar’s next directorial venture. Shankar is known for his films like Robot (2010), I (2015) and 2.0 (2018). Just like his recent films, the untitled project is touted to be another sci-fi action thriller in 3D and heavy on VFX. Shankar is hoping to rope in Khan for the octopus-like creature role.
A source close to the development reveals to an entertainment portal, “Apparently, the filmmaker has now approached Shah Rukh for the same role. The talks are just in the very early stages. It’s an octopus-like creature who possesses superpowers and superior intellect. It would be exciting to have SRK give his nod for this one as he and Shankar have never worked before earlier. Shankar is also said to have approached Jackie Chan, Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay and Chinese actress Li Bingbing for some pivotal roles. Shankar was keen to work with Hrithik Roshan but it didn’t work out.”
The source goes on to add, “The story revolves around a gigantic, octopus-like creature (which lives in the ocean) possessing special powers as an underwater diver, a treasure-hunter and a lighthouse keeper begin a search for it. Shankar again wants to make it in 3-D with the best underwater motion capture technology on offer.”
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is busy producing a couple of web-series for Netflix India. His first web-show as a producer is Bard of Blood. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles, the series is set to start streaming on 27th September.
