Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases surpasses 2800 with 23 new cases

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2,805 Monday after 23 more persons tested positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 10 pm Monday, 673 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 80 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 2,121 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January this year, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 153,065 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to July 26, according to the report.
