Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2,841 with two infected persons

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2,841 with 2 persons testing positive for the coronavirus today, after no new cases were reported for two days, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 8 pm Saturday, 254 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 51 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 2,576 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 169,826 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to August 07, according to the report.
