Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2810 with 5 new cases

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2,810 Tuesday after 5 more persons tested positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, as of 10:45 pm Tuesday, 503 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 65 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 2,296 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January this year, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 154,191 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to July 27, according to the report.
