Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 1998 with 7 new cases

Sri Lanka reported 1998 COVID-19 cases today with 7 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 5 pm Wednesday 425 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 30 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 1,562 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 98,634 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to June 23, according to the report.
