Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 1869 with 10 new cases

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases total increased to 1,869 Wednesday with 10 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry reported.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report updated at 11 pm Wednesday, 736 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 62 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 1122 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 80,302 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to June 09, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
