Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases exceeds 2600 with 94 new cases today

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases jumped to 2,605 today after 94 more persons tested positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Ministry, by 3 pm today 90 more positive cases have been reported. In the morning, four patients have been reported from Rajanganaya, 76 from Senapura Rehabilitation Center, and 14 patients from Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in East Kandakadu.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 4 pm Sunday, 614 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 99 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 1,980 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 122,071 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to July 11, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
