A second patient succumbs to coronavirus in Sri Lanka

A second patient who had tested positive for Covid–19 has died in Sri Lanka, officials said on Monday.

The Kochchikade resident was receiving treatment at the Negombo Hospital.

Already suffering from heart and respiratory issues, the man had tested positive for the virus on March 30.

At least 122 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the country so far, and the number of patients who have recovered from the disease stands at 14.

A 60-year-old resident of Marawila was the first person to die in the country last Saturday after contracting the virus.
