After wrapping up the first shooting schedule of Sadak 2 in Mumbai a couple of weeks ago, the team will now head off to Ooty to kick-start the second schedule of the much-awaited film. As the name aptly reveals, Sadak 2 is a sequel to renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s musical hit Sadak (1991). While the original film had Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt headlining the cast, the sequel stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt are also there reprising their roles in the sequel. What makes Sadak 2 even more special is the fact that it marks the directorial comeback of Mahesh Bhatt. He has donned a director’s hat after a gap of two decades.
Talking about the next schedule of the film, a source close to the team reveals to an entertainment portal. “The first schedule of the film happened in the third week of May at a suburban studio in Mumbai. That schedule lasted for a few days and majorly focused on Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, who have been retained from the original. Sadak 2 is a continuation of the first part with Alia playing Sanjay and Pooja’s daughter in the film. Alia also shot for two days during the first schedule,” says the source.
Adding further, the source says, “Alia along with Aditya Roy Kapur will fly off to Ooty to kick-start the next schedule. Alia flies on the 16th and begins shoot the next day. Aditya, who was busy finishing Malang, completed his look test for Sadak 2 recently at Vishesh Films’ office. It will be a run-on schedule that will last for at least a few weeks now. It will primarily be about Alia and Adi’s love story in the project.”
Produced by Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios, Sadak 2 is scheduled to release on July 10, 2020.
