Last seen in Tips Films’ action entertainer Race 3 (2018) opposite superstar Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez has been missing from the scene for more than a year now. Though rumours have been rife that the gorgeous actress has been roped in to play one of the female leads in the official remake of the 1982 film Arth, which is being planned by actor-filmmaker Revathi, there is no official word on the same.

The latest news about the actress is that she has been approached to star in an upcoming gangster drama. Yes, you heard that right! The film reportedly features Sanjay Dutt and Aayush Sharma as male leads. Sharma, who entered Bollywood with Salman Khan Films’ romcom LoveYatri (2018) opposite debutante Warina Hussain, is quite psyched up about sharing the screen space with Sanjay in the movie.

After locking Sanjay Dutt and Aayush Sharma for male leads, the makers had been looking for an actress for a long time. Now, their search seems to have ended on Jacqueline Fernandez. “The makers of the film are keen to have Jacqueline on board, and she has been approached for this film. However, she has not signed on the dotted lines yet,” reveals a source close to the development.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be helmed by Bobby Khan, who has several successful films to his credit as a writer. If all goes well, the project will begin production in the month of September. While Sanjay Dutt has done several gangster films before, this is going to be a completely untapped territory for Aayush.

Jacqueline Fernandez is also rumoured to be starring in Salman Khan’s Kick 2. However, an official announcement is awaited. She is presently gearing up to begin work on her Netflix series Mrs Serial Killer. Directed by Shishir Kunder, the series will mark her foray into the digital world.
