Group of 290 Sri Lankans stranded in Bahrain arrives in the country

A SriLankan Airlines flight carrying 290 Sri Lankans who were stranded in Bahrain due to COVID-19 pandemic arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning.

The SriLankan Airlines special flight UL-202 carrying the passengers from Bahrain’s Manama Airport arrived at the Katunayake International Airport at 6.00 am today.

It has been reported that most of the passengers on board the flight were Sri Lankans working in Bahrain.

In addition, two Sri Lankan passengers had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Emirates flight EK-648 from Dubai at 11.45 pm Saturday (04).

Another 15 Sri Lankans had arrived at the BIA from Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR-668 at 1:45 this morning.

All Sri Lankan passengers arrived at the BIA were subjected to PCR tests at the airport before sending them to quarantine centers.
