OWNER of the British firm, Asos Plc, Anders Holch Povlsen has lost his three of the four children in the deadly Easter Sunday (21) blasts in Sri Lanka, media reports said today (22).

The members of the family of the biggest single shareholder in Asos were visiting the island nation over the Easter break.

The names of the three children of the Danish business tycoon have not been made public.

Asos is a London based British online fashion and cosmetic retailer.

“Three of the four children of Danish billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen died in the Sri Lanka bombing attacks,” BBC quoted a spokesman as saying.

“Unfortunately, we can confirm the reports.”

“We ask you to respect the privacy of the family and we, therefore, have no further comments,” a Bestseller spokesman added.

Povlsen is the owner of the international clothing chain Bestseller.

The billionaire has a huge property portfolio in Scotland and is the largest private landowner in the country.

Povlsen is also the second-biggest individual private landowner in the UK.

Meanwhile, the death toll from bomb blasts that ripped through churches and luxury hotels in the island nation climbed to 290 on Monday (22), Sri Lankan authorities said.

Over 500 people were injured in the Easter Sunday assault.

Suicide attackers hit three high-end hotels, and three churches, unleashing the slaughter in the country’s capital city, Colombo and beyond.

Two additional blasts have occurred as security officers conducted raids to arrest the suspects.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks. However, the local police said that as many as 24 people have been arrested.
