Akshay Kumar’s citizenship has been the talk of the town. The actor holds a Canadian passport and his love for India is questioned by the trolls.

Recently, he interviewed, prime minister Narendra Modi and for that also he was trolled that how Modi agreed to be interviewed by a person who doesn’t have Indian citizenship.

Even Akshay not voting in the Lok Sabha elections has been in news for quite some time. But finally, the actor opted to speak up and break the silence over his citizenship.

Akshay tweeted, “I really don’t understand the unwarranted interest and negativity about my citizenship. I have never hidden or denied that I hold a Canadian passport. It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years. I work in India and pay all my taxes in India. While all these years, I have never needed to prove my love for India to anyone, I find it disappointing that my citizenship issue is constantly dragged into needless controversy, a matter that is personal, legal, non-political, and of no consequence to others. I would like to continue contributing in my small way to the causes that I believe in and make India stronger and stronger.”

Coming to Akshay’s movies, the actor will next be seen in Mission Mangal which also stars Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and Nitya Menon. The movie will be hitting the screens on 15th August 2019. He will also be seen in Housefull 4 and Good News this year.
