290 Sri Lankans stranded in Belarus repatriated

A SriLankan Airlines flight carrying 230 Sri Lankans who were stranded in Belarus arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport today (28).

The SriLankan Airlines special flight UL-1206 arrived at the Katunayake airport at 10.02 am from Minsk this evening.

It is reported that most of the passengers arrived on board this flight are Sri Lankan students who have gone for higher education. This is the second group of students repatriated from Belarus.

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, all the passengers were subjected to PCR tests.

The passengers were accommodated at several hotels near the airport until the results of the PCR tests are known.
